The country has just won a Species Survival Center, to protect and try to reduce the problem of the extinction of animals native to Brazilian fauna. The space to help species and combat the loss of biodiversity in the Atlantic Forest, was inaugurated last Thursday, 18, in Foz do Iguaçu. It will work inside the Parque das Aves - a bird conservation project already exists - and will also have strategies for integration with works to preserve the Brazilian flora. Brazil will be the fourth country in the world to have an IUCN Species Survival Center. Others already exist in the United States, United Kingdom and Portugal. According to the UICN ‘red list’ - a list of animals in danger of extinction - released in July 2020, Brazil already has 30,000 native species at extreme risk of disappearing nature. The center The Species Survival Center is a joint effort with specialists Parque das Aves, the Species Survival Commission of the International Union for Nature Conservation (IUCN) and the Conservation Planning Specialist Group (CPSG), also IUCN. “Nowadays, there are many tools to prevent the extinction of species. Conservation works.
